Whimsical paintings, hand-painted pillows, ottomans, slipcovers-also unique hardware jewelry. Jules does it all-and makes a mean brownie. Custom painting
Jules Gissler grew up in the Big Sky country of Montana. She received a degree in Graphic Design from Montana State University in Bozeman and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she gradually learned to decipher a Southern drawl. For the past 25 years she has stretched her creative imagination in many directions. She produced hand-painted pillows with beads and conversational charms and sold them to such stores as Barneys New York, Ballard Designs catalog, ABC Carpet & Home, and The American Craft Museum. One of her pillow designs also became a hand-painted canvas doll called the “Baby Angel,” which celebrates individuality. She has also designed wardrobe for a blues singer and taught art to children.
Currently, Jules paints whimsical art (she especially enjoys painting pets and funky flowers and does commissioned work)-- two pieces, "Hope" and "Joy", are home to Good Samaritan hospital in the new surgery waiting area. She has a jewelry line, J Period, which offers The Leash and the ziG bracelet made of hardware and unique beads, has a line of greeting cards, writes and illustrates children’s books, and is also painting her designs on fabric and fringe for pillows and furniture. These pieces are showcased at the Design Center in the M&N Collection's showroom in Scottsdale.
Jules has lived in several cities, but Phoenix, Arizona, has been her home for the past 13 years. She continues to be inspired by her daughter, her rescue dog, Harper, and her eclectic group of very cool pals.

The Leash is a 18-inch unique combination of hardware and beads and two end clasps. Rings throughout the piece allow it to be worn as a necklace, bracelet, belt or even looped through boots! Jules recommends collecting the different Leashes and clasping them together, to have a unique accessory each time you wear it.
The ziG is a bracelet for women and men that is made of hardware and is unique to J Period. This conversation piece has a magnetic clasp allowing it to become a choker, necklace, belt, or wrap on your boots, when several are combined.
